Week 7, Romance. Decided to take the Cliché folded book shot for this weeks theme and has to be one of the quickest I’ve taken a shot for this project.
The image was lit using two speedlights, one bouncing of the celing to give a fill light (1/64 power). The second on the window sill pointing at the back of the book and gelled with 1/2 CTO to add warmth to the image. Shot on sunny white balance to enhance the warmth with shutter speed of 1/125, F2.8 and ISO 200.
Week 2 was a difficult one to take. The theme was Breakfast, an easy one I thought but trying to make an interesting photograph that wasn’t like the pack became challenging. My initial idea was for the typical cereal shot with milk pouring on but thought that had been done to death.
Having thought about it for a while (hence the lateness of week 2), I came up with the idea of a toasted soldier in a soft boiled egg. Great, I thought. Something a little different.
I am pleased with the final image, yes there are things I might have done a little different. Perhaps a runnier egg but now need to concentrate on this weeks theme…TIRED.
